Plastic Bottles Are Not Always Good
Plastic packaging is very popular in many people to package foods or beverages. People mostly choose plastic to bring their food, especially beverages because it is flexible, unbreakable, not heavy to bring, and leak-proof. Plastic bottles are the most widely used by many people whenever or wherever they are. Moreover, it can also be used for more than one time.
The fact said that plastic contains of many chemical materials which harmful for people’s health. A research from University of Michigan found that plastic can contaminate food or beverages which covered. If someone eats foods or beverages in plastic, it is contaminated by chemical materials in plastic named Phthalates and BPA (Bisphenol A). These chemicals will affect thyroid hormone levels in human. It shows that plastic also brings danger to health.
Thyroid gland is very important for human to keep continuity of the metabolic process in human body. Chemical materials which harm the thyroid gland will affect hormone produce. Hormones are useful to add some energy levels and affect reproductive function, pulmonary system, and cardiovascular. It makes the thyroid gland becomes primary parts of human body.
Based on a study which involved adults and teenagers, it was found that there are significant relations between the increasing levels of chemical material in plastic with hormone levels in thyroid. The more often a person use plastic, the more risk their thyroid gland get affects of chemical materials. There are chemicals which called DEHP and a phthalate can get into a human body through food. These chemicals also found in many kinds of plastic devices which people often use in daily life.
